Not getting any better
I'm really concerned that Rohan is not getting any better. The fever doesn't seem to be subsiding at all
Richa stayed home with Rohan today. I had some important meetings and had to go to the office. According to Richa, Rohan was fine during the day, though a little subsided, perhaps from the pain in the ear. He wasn't tugging at his earlobe, so hopefully the pain is not as severe as it was yesterday. Then again, when Richa took his temperature at approximately 12:30, it was around 100 degrees. She gave him a little tylenol, which he took (thank heavens!) and slept for a couple of hours.
I came back from work at 6:00pm and Rohan's temperature hadn't subsided at all
. We fed him a concoction of rice and lentils and he seemed to like it. His grandmother (Richa's mom) came visiting to ask after his welfare at 6:30pm and she was the one who fed him. He ate his usual quantity, which is an extremely good thing. He seemed to be extremely sleepy, probably due to the fact that he hadn't slept much the entire day, so I brought him to the bedroom and tried putting him to bed. But he would have none of it! His body seemed to be burning, so I took his temperature, and sure enough, he was running a temperature of about 101 degrees again! This is just not acceptable! We have to find some way of reducing his temperature. We tried to wet a washcloth with cold water and apply that to his forehead, but he doesn't like that at all! -- he cries whenever the cold washcloth touches his forehead. We have given him some tylenol, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect. He seems delirious from fever and does not seem to want to sleep, but just keeps crying and crying.
It's too much. Why does a small baby like that have to suffer so much? It's unbearable.
